Dooars Diaries: Into the Heart of Bengal's Wilderness
Visiting Dooars was like stepping into a living postcard. The journey through dense forests, winding rivers, and sprawling tea gardens was mesmerizing. We stayed near Lataguri, where the chirping of birds and rustling leaves became our morning alarm. The highlight was a thrilling jeep safari in Gorumara National Park—we spotted peacocks, bison, and even glimpsed an elephant. Evenings were calm, filled with tribal dances and local cuisine under starry skies. A walk through Samsing and the banks of the Murti River offered unmatched serenity. Dooars felt untouched and raw, far from the chaos of city life. It wasn’t just a tour—it was a soulful experience with nature, perfect for those seeking peace, greenery, and a bit of wild adventure.
